Technological Education – TEJ2O

This course introduces students to computer systems, networking, and interfacing, as well as electronics and robotics. Students will assemble, repair, and configure computers with various types of operating systems and application software. Students will build small electronic circuits and write computer programs to control simple peripheral devices or robots. Students will also develop an awareness of related environmental and societal issues, and will learn about secondary and postsecondary pathways and career opportunities in computer technology. Prerequisite: None

By the end of this course, students will be:

Strand A: Technological Problem Solving and Communication

A1. Problem Solving:
Use a problem-solving process to address challenges, incorporating various stages such as design, testing, evaluation, and refinement.

A2. Communication:
Communicate design ideas and technical information using appropriate terminology, sketches, schematics, flowcharts, and digital tools.


Strand B: Computer Technology Fundamentals

B1. Computer Systems:
Describe and demonstrate the proper use of basic hardware and software components in computer systems.

B2. Networks:
Explain basic networking concepts and set up simple networks.

B3. Electronics and Robotics:
Build and test basic electronic circuits and robotic systems.
