Become a student in a Canadian High School from the comfort of your own home. Are you in?

Canada is one of the top five study abroad destinations in the world for international students— and it’s easy to see why. Home to some of the world’s top schools, international students love the competitive post-graduate work opportunities and Canada’s welcoming and inclusive environment.

And it doesn’t end there: Another top reason why international students flock to Canada is because the country’s education system offers an array of diverse and flexible post-secondary study options.

But what if your personal or local circumstances are standing between you and your future? Should that stop you?

No, not with the existence of powerful and accessible technologies such as the internet and online learning. As the internet becomes more prevalent, accessible, and mainstream, online schooling has continued to grow, and today there are online options for nearly every kind of student, and it is designed for every level of education.

For many students, learning online is better than a brick-and-mortar school; it can even provide opportunities that would never be available through traditional schooling methods. The perks of this type of schooling include flexibility based on your learning style and lifestyle, a comfortable space to work in, and the ability to gain additional skills that will be useful beyond the classroom.

This is the opportunity we’re here to present – The chance to have your diploma in our online Canadian high school!

TG Academy is an online private high school based in Ontario, Canada, and we’re looking for bright, passionate students like yourself. We started out with the objective of opening a new door to students all over the world that are simply unable to study abroad and utilize the power of online learning in giving bright students a chance at a better learning environment.

With this opportunity, you can enjoy a higher state of learning, a more supportive environment, and a place that cares for you as an individual and values your own goals and aspirations.

In addition to that, you get the opportunity to apply for Canadian universities and global universities with a much higher chance of being accepted.

Program Options for International Students

We offer two main enrollment options based on the student’s academic goals:

  1. Full OSSD Program (Complete the Ontario High School Diploma Remotely)
  2. Dual Diploma Pathway (Earn Both a Local & Ontario Diploma)
  • Designed for students who want to earn the full Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) online.
  • Students will complete all 30 credits, including core subjects and electives, required for graduation.
  • Graduates will receive an official OSSD transcript, which can be submitted for university and college applications worldwide.
  • This option allows students to remain in their home country while earning both their local high school diploma and an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
  • Students only need to complete the required Ontario credits to obtain the OSSD, supplementing their local curriculum.
  • This pathway provides stronger university application credentials and additional academic qualifications.

PLAR: PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT AND RECOGNITION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

International students who have previously completed high school courses may be eligible for PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) credits, which can significantly reduce the number of courses they need to take to earn the OSSD.

What is PLAR?

PLAR is an evaluation process that assesses a student's prior education and grants equivalent Ontario high school credits for courses they have already completed in their home country.

Benefits of PLAR for International Students:

PLAR is an evaluation process that assesses a student's prior education and grants equivalent Ontario high school credits for courses they have already completed in their home country.

How PLAR Works for International Students

  • Transcript Evaluation: Students submit their official academic transcripts from their home country.
  • Course Matching: Our academic advisors assess previous coursework and determine Ontario equivalent credits.
  • Credit Allocation: Students are awarded Ontario high school credits based on the subjects they have already completed.
  • Remaining Course Selection: Students complete only the remaining required Ontario credits to qualify for the OSSD.

For Example

  • A student who has completed Grades 9 and 10 in their home country may only need to complete Grade 11 and 12 Ontario courses to earn their OSSD.
  • A student who has completed high school but did not meet Canadian university entrance requirements may only need to take specific Grade 12 prerequisite courses.

Support for International Students

  • PLAR Credit Assessments: Helping students maximize their prior learning and reduce course load.
  • Academic Advising: Guidance counselors assist in course selection and graduation planning.
  • University & College Application Support: Assistance with applications, transcripts, and recommendation letters.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Learn at your own pace while balancing personal and academic commitments.
  • Ongoing Communication: Regular check-ins with teachers and academic staff for progress tracking.
