Explore the Forces that Shape Culture, Behaviour, and Societal Evolution

The HSB4U – Challenge and Change in Society course introduces students to the interdisciplinary world of anthropology, psychology, and sociology through the lens of social transformation. Students will use social science theories, methodologies, and perspectives to examine how and why societies evolve over time. Topics such as technological advancement, global inequality, deviance, and shifting social norms form the core of this inquiry-driven course.
This course is especially valuable for students planning to pursue post-secondary studies in sociology, political science, cultural studies, or psychology, as well as those who are passionate about understanding the dynamic relationship between individuals and society.
To enroll in this course, students must have completed any Grade 11 or 12 university (U) or university/college (M) preparation course in Social Sciences and Humanities, English, or Canadian and World Studies.
